How to pay for Surgery

How to pay for Surgery

by Why Weight / Thursday, 11 July 2019 / Published in Tom Talks

Insurance coverage and financing options are always important concerns for our patients. We have 7 full-time Patient Advocates who are experts at acquiring insurance approval for weight loss surgery. Upon calling our office, each patient is assigned a Patient Advocate that will explain our various payment options and help them obtain the approvals needed to move to the next step.

Although bariatric surgery seems expensive at the outset, it’s important to remember the costs of not receiving proper weight loss treatment. A figure by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) estimates the average annual treatment cost for a person suffering with Type 2 Diabetes is $14,000.00. Coincidentally, this is the same one-time cost of the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy. Because the sleeve procedure affords patients the opportunity to resolve all of their obesity related health problems such as diabetes, hypertension, high blood pressure, and sleep apnea, patients will no longer require medical treatment for those problems. So, the question becomes, would you rather spend $14,000.00 every year to treat obesity, diabetes, etc. or spend a one-time fee of $14,000.00 and resolve your obesity and its related problems?
