Nicole Burdett and Jason Williams have been friends for over 20 years. In 2017, they made the life-changing decision to undergo the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy. Prior to surgery, Nicole, a 38-year-old mom and lawyer, weighed 215 pounds. Jason, a 46-year-old father and lawyer, weighed 266 pounds. As a result of the surgery and their dedication to a healthier life, Nicole and Jason now weigh 126 and 193 pounds, respectively.
Nicole decided to have surgery for several different reasons. First and foremost, she juggles bring a full-time mom and lawyer on a daily basis. As the days, months and years went on, it became increasingly difficult for Nicole to find time for herself. Nicole knew the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy could help her be the best version of herself for her children, husband, clients, and colleagues. Within just a few months of her surgery, Nicole and her family traveled to Disney World like they had many times in the past, except something was different this time. Nicole could keep up with her energetic kids like never before; she felt younger, more confident and overall healthier.
Jason is a former Division I collegiate athlete. Given his athletic background, Jason knows how to and has always exercised routinely. However, his college eating habits followed Jason into adulthood. As with all of us, our adult body cannot sustain a college eating habit. For Jason, an entire pizza and bottle of wine were single servings. Jason knew his weight would continue to increase and he would continue not see results in the gym if he did make a change. Jason underwent the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy in order to “press the reset” button. The surgery allowed Jason to learn new eating habits and exercise and see results without any crash diets or crazy supplements. It was exactly the reset button that Jason’s body needed to get back on track.
