We are thrilled to report that Governor Landry has signed Senate Bill 106. Starting in January 2025, close to one million more people in Louisiana will have bariatric surgery coverage. The main insurance carriers affected by this will be BCBS of Louisiana and the exchange plans.
Any insurance plans bought by the state will be required to have bariatric surgery coverage due to this bill. This is a very exciting step forward in the fight against obesity in our state.
