The Obalon Clinical Trial
The Obalon Balloon is an FDA-approved device for weight loss. Three lightweight balloons are placed in your stomach by simply swallowing a capsule. Once in your stomach, they are inflated with gas. The balloons are intended to occupy space in your stomach to help you feel fuller, eat smaller portions and lose weight. The Obalon Balloons reside in your stomach for a 6-month period and then are removed in a short, outpatient endoscopic procedure.
A selected group of doctors are conducting a clinical trial to follow participants treated with the Obalon Balloon System for 1 year. Participants are required to pay study treatment fees but will be compensated for participation in the study also. If you participate in the Trial, you may be eligible for a discount on your therapy or be compensated for your time and travel.
