His Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin is from The University of Texas at Austin, and his Medical Doctor degree is from Louisiana State University in New Orleans. 

After completing his residency in General Surgery at L.S.U., Dr. Redmann moved to Eunice, Louisiana, where he performed all aspects of General Surgery for the area.  He served as Chief of Surgery and Chief of the Medical Staff at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice and held the offices of Treasurer, Vice-President, and President of the St. Landry Parish Medical Society.  Having lost his  mother to lung cancer while he was living in Eunice, Dr. Redmann felt compelled to move back to the Northshore with his wife, Dody, when his father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.

With the Surgical Specialists of Louisiana, Dr. Redmann has performed and assisted in thousands of bariatric procedures for surgical weight loss; and he sees patients for nonsurgical weight loss in the MyWeight clinic.  He is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons, and is a Volunteer Site Surveyor for MBSAQIP.  Dr. Redmann is a proctor for the da Vinci robot surgery system.  He also specializes in the surgical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, GERD, including Nissen fundoplication and hiatal hernia repair and the LINX reflux management system.  Gallbladder surgery, hemorrhoid surgery, and hernia repair are also part of Dr. Redmann’s surgical repertoire.
