Dr. French joined the Surgical Specialists of Louisiana in 2001 where he specializes in minimally invasive general surgery, including micro-laparoscopy, anti-reflux surgery, para-esophageal hernia surgery and laparoscopic ventral and inguinal hernia repair.
He completed his general surgery residency in 2000 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and earned his undergraduate degree at Washington and Lee University. Dr. French is fellowship trained in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Ultrasound.
Dr. French has been a lecturer and instructor for the American College of Surgeons Abdominal Ultrasound Course as well as a past instructor for the Advanced Trauma Life Support at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He is published in Laparoscopic Ventral Hernia Repair (Salvador Morales-Conde ) and SAGES Manual of Perioperative Care in Minimally Invasive Surgery (Ehelan, Fleshman and Fowler).
He is a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He is also a board member for the New Orleans Blood Center and past board member for Volunteers of America of Greater New Orleans.
Dr. French lives in New Orleans with his wife Brandi and daughter Charlotte.
