According to a recent research study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, researchers found bariatric surgery patients were 39% less likely to experience a heart- or stroke-related event and 41% less likely to die from any cause. Moreover, the study suggests “bariatric surgery may be an effective treatment for severe, costly chronic conditions in people with excess weight and diabetes…”
